The winners of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) Awards 2017 were announced on 6 April 2017.
The annual awards, which recognise the commitment and contributions of the association’s members, took place at Titanic Belfast in Northern Ireland.
Around 400 people attended the President’s Dinner and awards ceremony, which formed part of the two-day HCA National Leadership and Development Forum.
This year’s event was organised by the Northern Ireland branch of the HCA and had the theme ‘Seize the Moment – Deliver the Future’.
Six awards were handed out on the night, including new award category the Staff, Health & Wellbeing Award, which was introduced to demonstrate the importance catering teams can have in supporting staff at work.
Other awards included Caterer of the Year, Catering Service of the Year, Chairman’s Choice, Trade Stand Award and the Wilma Wilkie Outstanding Service Award.
Phil Shelley, national chair of HCA, said: “The prestigious awards publicly acknowledge the exceptional commitment and outstanding contributions from our members who have demonstrated excellence and innovation over the past 12 months.”
The evening also raised £4,800 in aid of The Mary Peters Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
