Entrants are once again invited to participate in the Hospital Caterers Association - Wessex Branch Salon Culinaire Event on Thursday 16 May 2024 at Newlyns Cookery School based in Hook in Hampshire.

There will be two streams to the competition day - Healthcare and Catering Students from local colleges based across the south.

Hospital Caterers

This is an opportunity to showcase the wealth of skills and talent within Hospital Caterers today. Whether you refresh old skills, not often used in your day to day work life or learn a new skill.

Catering Students

This is your opportunity to present your skills to an audience of healthcare and hotel industry experts, test your skills and step outside of the everyday service.

There are trophies and certificates and the opportunity of mentor days with industry chefs to help you home your skills and understand a different sector

    Create a curry of your choice, meat, fish or plant based and garnish with appropriate sides.

    Create a 2 course meal (Starter/main or Main/dessert) from a selection of 12 store cupboard ingredients.
  • Class 3 - Classic sauté chicken chasseur

    Butcher a chicken in the classic sauté style and create traditional chicken chasseur with garnish and your own modern twist.
